Good to hear it!
But sometimes, it is better to review it, especially the content of the various tasks that fall in our job description.
There are several traditional and modern analyzing tools existing in today’s time for this review.
But my suggestion is a simple “Questioning” tool, which you can do even when you drive your car!!
“Are all the tasks that I am proud of doing ……, really valuable?”
I have noticed people misunderstanding between “powerful” tasks and “meaningful” tasks ( I use the word “powerful” as it is an influencing factor for many in selecting and admiring their jobs). For example, some of the tasks may be really powerful within a micro environment. But if you ask, “What am I contributing through this task?”, the sincere answer may be “Nothing”. Also we need to see whether those tasks are valid only within our organization or globally?
So the question from all you to me now is, “How can we measure if a task is meaningful or not?”.
The simple method is …. answer the question, “Can I add it in my CV?”.
If YES, please go ahead. Otherwise, please rethink on it.
Let it be part of your Q2’2016 Resolution.
Wish you all the best!
